What the work can produce

Understand the value.

Examples of how evidence, findings and practical next steps can be presented.

Illustrative examples only. These fictional extracts demonstrate possible structure and presentation. They are not client work, inspection judgements or a substitute for a review of your setting. Actual outputs follow the agreed brief.

P.S.A. · Illustrative audit extract

From observation to action.

Focus: documenting completion of pastoral follow-up actions.

Improvement priority

Make the outcome of follow-up visible.

Evidence reviewed: in this fictional sample, six of ten records named an action owner, while four also recorded a completion date and outcome.

Finding: the sampled records did not consistently show whether planned actions had been completed.

Why it matters: a reviewer could not reliably distinguish a completed action from an outstanding one using the record alone.

Suggested next step: agree a short completion entry covering the action taken, date, outcome and any further review.

Scope limit: this observation relates only to the fictional sample. It does not establish whether actions took place but were not recorded.

Make the next steps accountable.

The owner, timing and review method would be agreed with the setting rather than assumed.
